I did the exact same thing, 17 pro max cosmic orange (upgraded purely for this colour, loved it) , preordered but didn’t do my research into the aluminium. Once I saw Jerry’s video on it scratching, I returned and thought I’d give the black air ago
One day so far and I’m really enjoying it! I also don’t think I’ll miss the “pro” features, the thinness of the phone is amazing and has to be experienced.

Not going to lie – the air is more interesting to me than the pro line.
And I love having “the best”.
iPhone Air is a nod to the Johnny Ives days. The pro feels like a functional product.
Apple focused more on its beauty and design before. This air iPhone reminds me of those good old days.

This is the very reason I picked up my Air today. The 17Pro felt cheap in my hand (coming from a 15proMax).
I am in the same situation photo wise, and watching a YouTube video the speaker seemed more than acceptable for my needs I only use Apple Music though my sound system or through CarPlay so that’s not an issue for me.
If you want a genuinely premium feeling iPhone now the Air is the way to go. So found it and came in a week, working perfectly.

If you play games or watch videos without AirPods the single speaker is a nightmare. It is seriously going backwards. I had to return mine 17 air for the 17 pro.

Sticking with 16Pro. Stopped by Apple. The new Pro’s do not feel like a premium product. The Air is nice but no great step forward from the 16Pro

I’ve had the Air over the weekend and love it… but think I’m returning it. I use the wide angle for site visits at work. I tried using panoramic as a work around – but just didn’t cut it!

I’ve been on this phone all day today doing a wide variety of tasks, 40% battery remaining on 7 hours of screen on time, it last just as long as the base model iPhone. It’s no pro max battery but the air was clearly designed to run efficiently. I also have large hands and I find this to be the perfect in between!
